Radio Rock 105.3 (KIOZ)

KIOZ, also known as Rock 105.3, is a Rock station in San Diego, California. It is licensed in San Diego, California, and is owned by Clear Channel Communications.In the 1980s, this was "KCBQ Country" and simulcast AM1170 for some years. In the early 1990s, the station switched to adult album alternative. Meanwhile, KIOZ began at 102.1, licensed to Encinitas, California, as a harder-edge rock station. That station had itself obtained the call letters when they were released by an FM station at 102.9 (now KARS) in Laramie, Wyoming that had held them since the 1970s.In 1996, KIOZ and KCBQ swapped frequencies; the latter is now known as KPRI.
