]WHRO-FM is a Public Radio formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Norfolk, Virginia, serving Hampton Roads. WHRO-FM is owned and operated by Hampton Roads Educational Telecommunictns Association, Inc.Station owners began a drive to get a second frequency for classical music programming in the 1980s, in hopes of adding more NPR programming on the old WHRO-FM, at 89.5 FM.
