John's vast experience in setting up a community radio station, including Carers FM, proved invaluable as he brought together a team of experts to manage the setup of the station and create nine days of thrilling new programs. Our first broadcast in February 2009 was a resounding success, and our award from Counsel + Care validated our efforts.
Building on this success, we broadcasted 24/7 for over three weeks in November 2009 and have since been broadcasting on the Internet seven days a week, 12 hours a day since April 2010. In January 2011, we extended our broadcasting hours to midnight daily. Over the years, Vintage Radio has trained over 30 mature individuals who were new to radio and welcomed numerous others to our team. Our dedicated presenters have acquired invaluable broadcasting skills, enabling them to create and host their live shows. Vintage Radio's primary objective is to entertain and inform our listeners, and our presenters have the power to ask the right questions that resonate with our audience.
