After the station was sold in the mid-1980s, the call letters were dropped and another station picked them up in 1995.

In 1993, KCUB went on air on the 107.5 frequency, initially known as K-Cub and playing new and old country hits. However, KCUB was eventually moved to 1290 AM. In 1995, the station changed its call letters to KHYT and switched to a classic rock hits format, adopting the name K-Hit.

In 2004, the station rebranded as "Rock 107.5", but maintained the same playlist and format. Recently, the station changed its name back to "K-Hit" with a classic hits format, while using the same logo scheme. [*]
