Radio WCTK-FM (Cat Country 98.1)

WCTK (98.1 FM, "Cat Country 98.1") is a country music formatted radio station serving Southern New England, with studios in Providence, Rhode Island, and transmitter in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

WCTK was originally WYMS, a soft rock station broadcasting from New Bedford. In 1989, the station abruptly switched to country and new call letters WCTK - to be similar to sister country station WCTY in Norwich, CT (New London market), a second adjacency signal at 97.7. The new country station was originally known as "Country 98.1 WCTK." In 1994, WCTK began calling itself "Cat Country."

In 1997, the station moved it's studios from New Bedford to the Roland Building in Providence to concentrate on fully serving the Providence Arbitron metro.
