Radio Quiet Moments with Randy Young

The problem with steady, constant noise is that we get too used to it. Soon we become desensitized and it becomes the new quiet. I admit that I struggle with quieting myself down... I actually have a hard time sleeping if it is too quiet! Its crazy! When Samuel was called by God he was in bed, all alone, quiet. Samuel heard his name being called and got up a few times to see who was calling for... him. Finally, when he heard his name being called again he answered..."yes Lord I am listening". He was able to hear from God because he was quiet. I also find it interesting that God waited for Samuel to be all alone and in bed before calling his name. I have found that "noise" is a counterfeit "comfort" because true comfort comes from being still and hearing from our Father.
