Radio KGNC-FM (97.9 FM Amarillos Country)

KGNC is a radio broadcast service in Amarillo, Texas, USA. It operates KGNC (710 AM) and KGNC-FM (97.9 FM). Both stations are owned by the Morris Communications Company since acquiring the Amarillo Globe-News Publishing Company in 1972. KGNC was formed when the Amarillo Globe-News Publishing Company purchased two radio stations, WDAG and KRGS. WDAG was the first radio station in Amarillo. On December 24, 1958, KGNC aired the first FM broadcast in the Amarillo region.
