The Arabian Radio Network (ARN) was launched in September 2001 under the leadership of Abdullatif Al Sayegh, now CEO of Arab Media Group. The Arabian Radio Network (ARN) was launched in September 2001 under the leadership of Abdullatif Al Sayegh, now CEO of Arab Media Group. The network’s first project was Al Arabiya 98.9 FM, an around-the-clock Arabic music and news station that proved to be an instant hit, changing the airwaves of Dubai forever. But that was just the start. Hot on the heels of Al Arabiya was the launch of ARN’s second station, Free FM. This was the ambitious, young radio network’s first foray into targeting Dubai’s native English-speaking audience and again it was an immediate success, readily embraced by the Emirate’s large western expatriate community. But even greater success was soon to come for ARN when, in May 2004, Free FM merged with Government station Dubai FM and the exciting, new sound of Dubai 92 was born. Today, ARN boasts eight radio stations, namely, Al Arabiya, Al Khaleejiya, Noor Dubai, City 1016, 104.4 Awaaz, Hit 96.7, Dubai Eye and, of course, Dubai 92.

Embracing the excitement and dynamism of this amazing city we live in, Dubai 92 has built up a community of loyal listeners who tune in each day to catch up with friends, hear the latest news and have a laugh. The station’s not-so-secret special ingredient is the cast of colourful characters who host the shows, personalities that run the gamut from effervescent to eccentric. Combined with a winning mix of up-to-the-minute new music trends and favourite classic tunes from the past, it’s no big surprise that Dubai 92 is the region’s number one music station.
