KNBA was assigned to the frequency 1190 kHz (AM) in 1960; the calls were in use until 1992, when the frequency changed call letters to KXBT, eventually becoming its present call sign, KDYA. 1190's sister-station at 1640 AM is a Christian teaching-ministry format KDIA, also licensed to Vallejo. The station carried Oakland Athletics Spanish radio broadcasts in the daytime, while KDIA broadcast night games from 2009 to the middle of the 2010 season.

The KNBA calls are now in use by a radio station in Anchorage, Alaska.
